In the process of urban development, in recent years, Binh Duong province has implemented synchronous solutions, mobilized and utilized efficiently resources from various economic sectors to invest in socio-economic infrastructure, build a new urban appearance in the orientation towards civilization, modernization with the goal of constantly improving life quality of the people. In addition to the strong urban development in central areas, the new urban appearance of Binh Duong is also flourishing and spreading in the localities that used to be rural areas.
According to midterm assessment of the implementation of all-level Party Resolution in the province, apart from socio-economic development in general, urban development achieved good results. Thu Dau Mot City was recognized as class-1 urban center; Di An and Thuan An Town were recognized as class-3 urban area and are striving to meet class-2 urban criteria. At present, Tan Uyen and Ben Cat Town ensure criteria for the proposal to be recognized as class-3 urban area. The good news is that recently, at the 25th meeting, National Assembly Standing Committee considered and decided to establish Lai Uyen town (Bau Bang district) and Tan Thanh town (North Tan Uyen district). The establishment of Lai Uyen town and Tan Thanh township is to create a legal premise for the establishment of the urban management model.
To Bau Bang district, the goal that the district Party Resolution 2015-2020 set out was to become an industrial - urban center of the province. If Lai Uyen is officially recognized as a town, this will create a stimulus for local Party, authorities, and people to achieve all objectives. To North Tan Uyen district, Tan Thanh town will create a motivation to attract investments, industrialization of rural agriculture, completion and improvement of new rural construction. In fact, the urban development in rural areas is a way to create a balance in the development process, gradually reducing the gap between rural and urban areas.
Moreover, with the recognition as towns, Tan Thanh and Lai Uyen will soon become central cities of North Tan Uyen district and Bau Bang district, opening up opportunities for these localities to invest in infrastructure, accelerating socio-economic growth in the coming time.
