Completion of goal of building Binh Duong into a modern, civilized and distinctive urban area is a very important task and needs positive measures.
Many offices and apartments have emerged at Binh Duong New City.
Efforts for the goal
To concretize the big goal, Binh Duong provincial Party Committee issued an Action Plan No.19/Ctr-TU on building Binh Duong into a developing axis of the Southern key economic zone, an economic-political, cultural, sci-technical center with standards of the first class urban area and a central city by 2020. And, to concretize the action plan, the provincial People’s Committee delivered a Plan 3986/KH-UBND on setting out measures of developing Binh Duong urban area for the 2010-2015 period.
In terms of urban space, the Action Plan No.19 also specifies that Binh Duong urban system will link with regional urban areas, HCMC and well-invested traffic system and perfect technical and socio-infrastructure facilities at Di An and Thuan An towns. In addition, the province will focus on developing new urban areas in conformity with old urban rejuvenation, emerging eco-urban areas in combination with tourism development along to Sai Gon, Thi Tinh and Dong Nai Rivers.
Till 2015, Binh Duong will have 1 city, 5 towns, 4 districts, 49 wards, 11 townships and 51 communes. The province will concentrate on developing traffic infrastructure, linking express traffic roads and main roads with HCMC traffic system.
Urban routes to be expanded
The provincial Construction Department Huynh Van Minh, said the provincial Southern urban areas should focus on upgrading and expanding urban routes. This is an urgent deed. Specifically, Thu Dau Mot, Thuan An and Di An towns must urgently map out plans on upgrading social and technical infrastructure facilities whilst local Transport Department must connect with Belt Road 3 and trace out public traffic routes linking with HCMC and Binh Duong City. These projects will decide image of the future urban area.
As for social infrastructure facility, it is necessary to lure economic sectors to invest in Hoa Phu new urban center, Binh Duong Avenue trade-service corridor and urban centers of Di An, Thuan An and Thu Dau Mot towns, to upgrade traditional markets, develop eco-tourism sites, shopping malls.
Till 2015, province will strive to complete 70% of residential and trade housing areas. At present, the province has encouraged investors to develop housing areas for workers, students and low incomers and focus on tertiary, college and high school and pre-school education, spur socialization on education, healthcare, culture and sport…

Upholding all sources for infrastructure building
To gain the mentioned goals, the authority should give priorities for developing urban and social technical infrastructure and take advantages of central, ODA and socialization capital sources to create breakthroughs in building a modern Binh Duong urban area.
Additionally, the provincial People’s Committee set out goals of building 2 industrial compounds of building material and farm produce production in Dau Tieng and Phu Giao districts. These projects will ensure increase on local budget collection and meet urban development sustainably.
