One of key contents of the 11th national Party Congress and the 9th provincial party congress’ resolution on socio-economic development is to develop Binh Duong urban area into a civilized, modern, distinctive and environmentally friendly area. Meeting the breakthrough requirement, a series of new urban areas have appeared and taken shape.

Binh Duong urban area has over years developed constantly. Master, architect Huynh Van Minh, vice director of the provincial Construction Department, said the development is thanks to planning works on urban-rural construction and basic functional area, meeting requirement on local socio-economic development. Reportedly, common planning on local urban areas has been approved. According to Mr.Minh, the total urban planning includes 16 common planning projects, 10 detailed planning ones, 112 new urban and housing area ones.
Meanwhile, urban spacing development has been also oriented obviously in the Southern urban area and Northern rural area. Specifically, urban industrial space will be formed up between 2 traffic axes including Binh Duong Avenue and DT747 Road.
Hoa Phu ward-based new urban area in Thu Dau Mot town has an area of over 1,000ha and has been taken shape with Binh Duong intergrated Political and Admin Center and key works such Eastern International University, Tan THanh Golf, hi-grade housing areas and so on.
Synchronous facility
Along with investment planning on socio-technical infrastructure, many crucial works have been put into use. They include Thu Bien Bridge, Bach Dang Bridge, Thanh Hoi Bridge. And, key works encompassing DT741, DT744, Phu Long Bridge, An Linh- An Long Bridge and so on are under completion.
In addition, Binh Duong has opened Tan Hiep water plant with the capacity of 60,000 cubic meters/day and night, Nam Tan Uyen water plant with capacity of 10,000 cubic meters/day and night. The locality also is under preparation to build Phuoc Hoa, An Tay-Ben Cat reservoir water supply projects, Ba Bo canal, Bung Diep-Suoi Cat, Chom Sao water drainage projects…
Many new urban areas have emerged in Binh Duong.
In terms of social infrastructure, the entire province has so far had 112 trade housing and new urban projects with the total area of 6,253sqm and 1.4mil sqm of housing projects for students and low incomers.
Additionally, the province has paid attention to education, health and training. Many works under construction include Thu Dau Mot University, Dong An Medical College, Vietnam-Singapore Vocational Training College, provincial general hospital, children’s hospital, cancer and tumor hospital and so on.
However, some key works are under asynchronous and stagnant construction and some planning projects have poor quality and so on.
