Speeding up industrial development
After more than 10 years of
development, My Phuoc township in Ben Cat district has changed completely and
become an industrial hub of Ben Cat district. This has contributed to promoting
Ben Cat’s investment attraction and helped the district become one of Binh
Duong’s localities having strong development on industrial manufacture with the
annual production value reaching VND50trillion, 86.2% of which has came from
industrial manufacture. 
A glance of My Phuoc township
Ben Cat district has so far absorbed more than 1,600 investment projects, including 1,177 domestic investment projects with total registered capital of nearly VND10trillion and 30 FDI ones from 24 countries and territories such as South Korea, Japan, Italy, U.S…with total investment capital of more than US$4.8bln, mostly in My Phuoc township.
According to statistics, My Phuoc has lured many big-sized projects, comprising of the US$380mln factory of South Korea’s Kumho Tires Group; Vina Graft Paper Co. Ltd. of Thailand with total investment capital of US$180mln; Kirin Vietnam Beverage Co.Ltd. of Japan capitalized at US$90mln; Maruzen Foods Corporation of Japan with total investment capital of more than US$100mln; Tomoku Co. of Japan with US$47mln…Foreign investors said that they decided to make investment in My Phuoc township because of industrial and urban infrastructure herein fostered in a synchronous way.
Ben Cat district has also reached a robust growth in services along with industrial and urban growth. According to statistics from the district’s People’s Committee, there are nearly 2,000 business certificates annually granted for individual business households across the district. The whole district is now home to more than 17,000 individual business households with total registered capital of more than VND2.2trillion, mostly in My Phuoc township. These individual business households have contributed to bringing the district’s annual value of services to VND4.1trillion. Along with generating jobs for the local laborers, the development has contributed to increasing the local State budget revenue.
Urban development promoted
Authorities of Ben Cat district and investors have also attached special importance to urban development. Together with the birth of industrial parks in My Phuoc township, Ben Cat district have got involved in zoning and building many urban and residential areas at laborers’ demand for accommodation towards industrialization and modernization.
Apart from well-built industrial parks, My Phuoc township has achieved growth in urban and residential areas with a large number of laborers to work and live, contributing to promoting the development of the local trade-service sector. The township has so far drawn more than 1,500 domestic and foreign enterprises with hundreds of thousands of engineers, managers and workers. But thanks to having a methodical investment, the urban face of My Phuoc looks very clean and nice.
According to Binh Duong’s point of view, urban construction aims to serve the goal of sustainable development. Industrial manufacture must be associated with urban development and urban development will promote sustainable industrial development. This has been convincingly proved by the current development of My Phuoc township. Nguyen Huu Chi, Chairman of Ben Cat district’s People’s Committee said that My Phuoc township’s urban area is being formed up and it will be corresponding to a center of Ben Cat town and is an industrial district of Binh Duong city in the future.
