To efficiently exploit available advantages
Lai Thieu is the center of Thuan An town with a total population of 67,800 people, accounting for nearly 12.7% total population of the town. Lai Thieu also has a favorable geographic location, is convenient in trade between localities in the region... To exploit these advantages, after a half of 2015-2020 tenure, Lai Thieu put effort into mobilizing all resources for investment in infrastructure development, speeding up the development of trade and services, building a civilized and modern urban center; At the same time, encouraging trade-services to growth, increase its scale, and diversify products, services.
In the area of trade-services, Lai Thieu ward implemented many solutions to stimulate development, in which focus on developing supermarkets, markets ... Currently, the whole ward has over 700 medium and small-sized businesses; many mini supermarkets such as Vinmart, Familymart and a large-scale supermarket Lotte Mart Binh Duong. Nguyen Le Cao Tuan, Director of Lotte Mart Binh Duong, said the supermarket had been established at the end of 2013, with a total area of 21,000m2. The supermarket meet the people’s shopping needs, with more than 2,000 products including fresh food, processed food, home appliances, cosmetics, electronics, fashion...
Besides, there are more than 20 commercial banks located in Lai Thieu ward. These include Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank), Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development (BIDV), Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank)... Pham Phu Nam, People's Committee Chairman of Lai Thieu Ward, said that investors came to their area to invest in many projects, especially in the field of housing. A number of social housing projects in the area have also been developed to meet the housing needs of residents.

Thuan An Town spent VND300 billion to invest in the construction of a trade center to better serve the people's shopping needs. The town and Lai Thieu ward are carrying out land clearance works. It is estimated that by 2020, this work would be completed and put into use.
