The urban rejuventation in association with developing housing projects in exisiting urban area has contributed to improving the local urban image of the province, raising the quality of people’s life, creating a motivation for investment attraction, socio-economic development. Noticeably, the province has attached special importance to changing the old areas of State agencies into parks. The whole province now has more than 96 such parks.
In Thuan An city, 28 industrial facilities stopping operation have been switched into housing areas. Whilst, TDM city has so far built 65 parks and continued carrying out remaining 14 ones. Thuan An city has also put 3 parks into use and is expected to further construct additional 5 parks. Ben Cat town has built 3 parks and upgraded 3 others. Di An town has constructed 3 parks and is expected to further realized 2 others.
Such these part, the province has paid more attention to urban technical infrastructure development, including upgrading streets, pavements and installing public lighting systems. The province has made investment in streets, alleys managed by wards and communes from State budget, contributions by people..; focused on making environmental hygiene, upgrading water supply-drainage and power systems….
Ensuring safety during rainy seasoning
Provincial Department of Construction has just required the People’s Committees of districts, towns, cities, sectors, departments, investors of the projects and construction work management units to urgently boost inspection and opportunely improve shortings, ensuring safety for people and vehicles while preventing flooding in the province.
As a central city of the province, TDM city over the past years attached special importance to flooding prevention, especially during the rainy season. Duong Thai Khanh, Head of the city’s Urban Management Department said that over the past time, the city made installation of anti-flood and tidal valves for TDM market, lighting systems for Thu Ngu, Thay Nang, Bung Cai canals; carried out 58 works dredging canals, upgrading irriagation works with a total length of more than 10,000 meters…
Nguyen Thanh Son, Head of Thuan An city’s Urban Management Department said that since early March, the department has rechecked and upgraded water inlet sluices, ensuring safety for people and vehicles while planning to prevent the local flooding.
In the 2020-2025, the province will further attach special importace to building urban rejuvenation works, comprising of upgrading DT743A, DT743B streets to create the premise for the development of HCM city-TDM-Chon Thanh highway under the plan; construct and put Uyen Hung water plant in Tan Uyen town into use; build a water discharge and waste water treatment plant in Ben Cat and Tan Uyen towns; carry out the expanded South Binh Duong water environment improvement project for the phase 2; further recheck the local public land fund for construction of parks, public toilets…in Thuan An and Di An cities.
