Vietnamese ambassador to Russia Bui Dinh Dinh attended the International Air-Transport Forum in the Ulyanovsk region, Russia on April 22 and 23 together with Russian authorities, leaders of aviation corporations and experts from around the world.
During the forum, delegates focused their discussions on key aviation issues such as the modernization and improvement of air transport.
Delegates also took part in sideline events including symposia on the development of aviation transport and allied industries, visits to Volga-Dnepr Airlines, one of the largest freight air companies in the world and the airframe manufacturing factory and Aviastar-SP, one of the central assembly areas for the United Aircraft Corporation of the Russian Federation are based specifically in Ulyanovsk.
** On the sidelines of the forum, Ambassador Dinh paid a visit to the Ulyanovsk region to boost Vietnam-Russia cooperation.During a working session with Sergei Morozov, Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region, Mr. Dinh briefed on Vietnam’s social, economic, and cultural achievements gained since the doi moi (renewal) process began over 20 years ago.
He recalled the traditional relationship between the two countries, particularly between the Ulyanovsk region and Vietnam’s Nghe An province.
The ambassador asked Ulyanovsk authorities to create favourable conditions for Russian businesses in the region to promote cooperation in economics, culture, and education with localities in Vietnam and for the overseas Vietnamese in the region to abide by their legal rights and duties.
Morozov appreciated Vietnam’s political status at the international forums as well as the country’s recent economic growth.
He said there is great potential for cooperation between Ulyanovsk and Vietnamese localities, especially in aviation training, light industry, aquaculture, textiles, garments, and tourism.
Ambassador Dinh also laid a wreath at the Lenin and Ho Chi Minh statues, visited the Lenin museum, and met with the Vietnamese community living in the region.
