Vietnam – Singapore Business Forum seeks proper growth strategy in new normal

How to implement a stringent growth strategy in the new normal and gradually bring sustainability into focus of the business community will take centre stage at the second Vietnam – Singapore Business Forum (VSBF 2022) which is set to be held on May 20 in Hanoi.

The event is co-organised by Sao Viet Training and Consulting Company (VIETSTAR) and Singapore Management University (SMU).

The core contents of the VSBF 2022 include assessment regarding the strategic business environment in Asia, the successful execution of growth strategy, gradually putting sustainability into the focus of business strategy, and integrating sustainability principles into the overall strategy.

The VSBF 2022 is anticipated to see the participation of senior leaders as well as business representatives from both Vietnam and Singapore.

Two years on since the initial outbreak of the pandemic and various governments and businesses based globally, including in Vietnam and Singapore, have transitioned to safe and flexible adaptation, whilst gradually recovering to achieve economic growth in the sustainable new normal.

At present, successfully implementing the growth strategy in the new normal has become an increasingly important priority for the boards of directors, board members, and executives throughout Southeast Asia.

Pham Thu Hang, CEO of VietStar & director of VSBF, said, “It is time for businesses to ensure sustainable development with competitive advantages and long-term business performance.

Organisations and leaders that put sustainability at the heart of their business strategy will be more resilient and benefit from adopting good business practices that enhance stakeholder engagement, improve governance efficiency, and ensure higher long-term financial performance and better value creation. We will do our best and focus all resources to successfully implement the VSBF 2022.”

The first VSBF attracted more than 50 senior leaders from leading Singaporean and Vietnamese corporations in an effort to discuss how to maintain growth in times of crisis and amid a challenging context.

The forum provided an opportunity for both local and Singaporean business leaders to share their vast experience in strategic planning and implementation as well as best corporate governance practices in a bid to maintain growth and sustainable development whilst ramping up co-operation between the two countries.
