Vietnamese confectionery products occupy domestic market

Vietnamese trademarks have occupied confectionery market. On surveys, Vietnamese confectionery products have taken more than 80% market share across supermarkets, traditional markets and groceries.

At present, confectionery products made in Vietnam are very plentiful in patterns, ranges and products that are divided into 3 groups such as high-grade, medium and cheap items. Patterns of confectionery products are very eye-catching with loved big trademarks of Knh Do, Bibica, Hai Ha, Pham Nguyen, Hai Chau, Huu Nghi, Vinamit and more.

In the past, confectionery products originated from China overwhelmed domestic market and appeared across wholesale markets and schools. However, these colorful confectionery products with very cheap prices were produced by small and unprestigious producers.

Until now, after being warned by functional agencies, many consumers have gradually changed their shopping habits and purchased prestigious and high quality products to ensure food safety, hygiene and family members' health. And, consumers' great choice is for domestic products because of their reasonable prices and ensured quality.

Nguyen Ngoc Trang, the owner of grocery store at Thu Dau Mot market said "My grocery store attracts many clients. Confectionery products at my store are mainly from domestic producers such as Bibica, Kinh Do with about 70% of quantity while the remaining is from other Vietnamese trademarks. In the past, I sold confectionery products made in China but in the recent years I stopped selling them for two years".

Le Thi Diem Chau, student of Binh Duong University of Technology and Economics shared "Vietnamese confectionery products are much cheaper than foreign products and their quality are ensured, so I often buy products made in Vietnam".
At present, the whole country has 30 enterprises involving in producing confectionery, 1,000 confectionery workshops and some companies specializing in importing foreign confectionery. However, Vietnamese products have occupied big position, owing to their reasonable prices and patterns.

In addition, thanks to positive impacts of the mobilization of "Vietnamese gives priorities to use Vietnamese goods", confectionery products are loved by consumers. Presently, confectionery market is in the peak season, so this is a good chance for Vietnamese products to affirm their position on the domestic market.
