Vietnamese goods dominate Dau Tieng’s market

Dau Tieng district has actively promoted the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”, thereby creating a habit of buying Vietnamese goods among locals.

Most commodities at Ben Suc market, one of two traditional markets in Dau Tieng district’s Thanh Tuyen commune are Vietnam-made ones.

Trinh Thi Hong, the owner of a shop at the market said: “Recently, the majority of customers have paid attention to commodities from domestic producers. Therefore, I have given priority to selecting Vietnamese goods. 95% of commodities at my shop are domestic ones and they are very much in demand.

Le Thi Lan, a resident in Dau Tieng district’s Thanh An commune said that she only paid attention to the price of commodities when buying them in the past. But now, she begins to care about their origin and quality. She added: “Domestic commodities have recently had a lot of improvements in terms of design, quality with reasonable price, so I have given priority to purchasing domestic household goods, ranging from washing powder, washing-up water to footwear, ready-made clothes…”.

In addition to buying commodities at traditional markets, residents in Dau Tieng have felt highly enthusiastic with the programs of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas”. Many locals have liked Vietnamese goods very much because of having good quality, beautiful design and reasonable price. She also wanted that such programs would continue being organized so that rural residents have more chances to get access to Vietnamese goods at their daily demand.

Nguyen Van Hai, Vice-Chairman of Dau Tieng district’s People’s Committee said that the “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” program has contributed to promoting the “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” campaign. On average, each market-day of Vietnamese goods includes over 40 booths from over 30 enterprises, absorbing thousands of visitors. All products are made in Vietnam with standards on quality, label and expiry date ensured.

Market-days of Vietnamese goods have also brought Dau Tieng district many support activities for the community, comprising of giving training on sales techniques for small traders, presenting gifts to poor-but-excellent pupils, families with difficult circumstances…

Nguyen Hoang Ngan, Chairman of Thanh Tuyen commune’s Fatherland Front Committee (FFC) said that under the “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” campaign, members of the local FFC over the past time had monthly meetings with heads of hamlets to raise the effectiveness of propagandizing and mobilizing locals to support Vietnamese goods. Currently, locals are aware of selecting and buying suitable commodities. Vietnamese goods meet the demand, so they receive priority for shopping from locals. The above-mentioned effective way will continue being maintained and developed by the commune in the coming time.
