Vietnamese goods dominate the domestic market

Along with other localities, Binh Duong implemented to the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” in a synchronous way over the past four years, creating an enthusistic response from residents and enterprises across the province. Vietnamese goods now dominate the local market. Especially, through market-days of Vietnamese goods to the countryside with the active participation of enterprises, residents in the rural areas of the province have easily got access to Vietnamese goods…

A trip of bringing Vietnamese goods to the countryside gets crowded with customers

Domination of Vietnamese goods

Vietnamese goods have returned to the more prominent positions on store shelves at province-based supermarkets, trade centers and big stores. Most local customers have paid more attention to using hi-quality Vietnamese goods.

Tran Thi Thuy residing in TDM city said that she has felt very secure when selecting and buying Vietnamese goods. Province-based supermarkets and trade centers have also regularly launched many promotional programs with value gifts for customers. Also upon this, Thuy and many other customers have given priority to buying Vietnamese goods.

As survey, Vietnamese goods account for 95% of product lines at province-based supermarkets, namely Co.opMart, Big C, Metro, CitiMart, Vinatex…The figure is also estimated to reach more than 80% at province-based markets and stores.

In addition, domestic producers have better met domestic customers’ demand. Co.opMart Binh Duong has always taken the lead in the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”. Under the campaign, Co.opMart Binh Duong has developed a program named “Pride of Vietnamese goods” with the annual revenue reaching thousands of millions of dong.

Co.opMart Binh Duong has also teamed up with hundreds of producers to supply hi-quality Vietnamese goods with reasonable prices for customers while giving priority to displaying, advertising and distributing Vietnamese goods.

Currently, Vietnamese goods account for more than 95% of products lines at Big C Binh Duong and Di An supermarkets. These Big C supermarkets have also given priority to purchasing and distributing Vietnamese goods. Mrs.Tram, a PR staff of Big C Binh Duong supermarket said that along with responding to the province’s program of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas”, Big C Binh Duong and Di An supermarkets have taken initiative in organizing many trips of bringing Vietnamese goods to the remote areas of  Tan Uyen, Dau Tieng while strengthening promotional programs for Vietnamese goods.

To rural areas

The objective of the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” is to stimulate domestic demand. Under the campaign, customers have been more aware of their responsibility, rights and interests to Vietnamese goods. There is a growing trend for the use of Vietnamese goods, especially hi-quality ones.

Domestic enterprises have attached special importance to raising the quality of goods, decreasing their prices for better competition and market expansion. This has helped customers have a chance to get access to Vietnamese goods.

Since 2010, province-based enterprises have well realized the campaign of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas”. The market-day of Vietnamese goods to rural areas have so far absorbed more than 20 enterprises. In 2013, the Trade Promotion Center under provincial Department of Industry and Trade has held such market-days. Enterprises participating the province’s price stabilization program have taken initiative in organizing tens of trips of bringing Vietnamese goods to industrial parks and rural areas of Dau Tieng district’s Minh Hung, Minh Hoa, Dinh Hiep communes, Tan Uyen district’s Tan Thanh, Hoi Nghia, Lac Ac communes…

Provincial Steering Board of the campaign “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” has active taken active measures to further promote the campaign for better results. Nguyen Tan Loc, Vice-Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee said that enterprises that bring Vietnamese goods to remote areas have faced difficulties. Hence, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the local administration need to give more financial support for them via promotion trade programs, contributing to promoting the development of Vietnamese goods.

Also according to Mr.Loc, the above support is not only for enterprises, but for authorities all levels to well serve communications work, ensure order and security… “The province needs to more regularly organize market-days of Vietnamese goods to the countryside, aiming to raise customers’ awareness and habit of using Vietnamese goods”, said Mr.Loc.

With the integral efforts by members of provincial Steering Board of the campaign “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”, participating enterprises and local people, it is believed that the campaign will be further promoted for better results in the coming time. More importantly, the campaign has contributed to developing the habit of using Vietnamese goods among the local people.

But now, there is a rampancy on fake and poor-quality products and illegally imported ones. Therefore, the local functional agencies need to strength control over the market, prevent smuggling, fake products…in order to protect Vietnamese brand names.
