Vietnam’s exports to Hong Kong rise sharply

Vietnam’s exports to Hong Kong reached nearly 1.779 billion USD in the 11 months of this year, up 59.8 percent over the same period last year, according to the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

In the reviewed period, export items of Vietnam to Hong Kong achieving high growth rates included office components and equipment, computers, electronic valves, telecom equipment and machineries.

The Vietnamese deputy consulate general, commercial counselor to Hong Kong and Macao Pham Van Cong said that this is a good signal for Vietnam’s exports sector. Vietnam’s enterprises have not only put their food down but also expanded their market in Hong Kong, he added.

Cong stressed the significance of exploiting the Hong Kong market, which is considered as an entrepot of the region and the world.

He also recommended Vietnam’s enterprises to improve goods quality and maintain prestige to their customers as well as actively participate in annual goods exhibitions in Hong Kong.

He said he believed that Vietnam’s exports to Hong Kong will continue to rise, reaching 2 billion USD in 2011./.
