In 2017, Phu Giao district’s Vinh Hoa commune has implemented tasks on socio-economic development with joy when being recognized as a new-style rural commune. The communal Party, government and people have upheld the spirit of solidarity at a high decree to improve the quality of criteria on the new-style rural construction program.
Vu Minh Hai, Chairman of Vinh Hoa communal People’s Committee said that becoming a new-style rural commune is seen as the basic premise for the local development process. Right from early this year, the local Party, government and people have upheld the spirit of solidarity at a high degree, making efforts to successfully realize the set targets. The commune as of now has fulfilled most main targets on economic development. Noticeably, the commune’s State budget collection reached more than VND16.96billion, surpassing 17.19% compared to the set plan.

A glance of Vinh Hoa commune
The average income of locals is now VND44.27million per year, up VND3.8million per person compared to 2016. There are 24 poor households or 0.74% of total population. The proportion of agro-forestry accounts for 38% of the local economic structure; industrial manufacture-construction, 29.3%; trade-services, 32.7%. There are 100% of households in use of electricity and clean water…
In terms of basic construction, since early this year, the commune has put 6 cement roads into use with a total length of nearly 3 kilometers and a total cost of more than VND4.8billion; upgraded an in-field road of more than 4.5 kilometers with a total expense of more than VND1.3billion; upgraded a rural road of more than 1 kilometer with a total expense of more than VND236million.
Since early this year, the commune has also coordinated with relevant agencies to disburse more than VND8.8billion in loan for 395 households to develop home based business. The number of households getting loans in the town has so far reached 2,250 with the total outstanding loans of more than VND40billion.
However, under provincial People’s Committee’s Decision No.730 on criteria of the new-style rural construction program for the period of 2017-2020, the commune has not yet fulfilled criteria on the rate of people joining health insurance and the rate of households in use of water at concentrated water supply stations…Hence, in the coming time, the communal People’s Committee will continue instructing the local sectors, mass organizations and authorities at all levels to boost propaganda activities, aiming to raise locals’ awareness of joining health insurance while mobilizing them to join health insurance and use clean water resources at concentrated water supply stations…
