VND3.3trillion to be spent on basic construction

This is a total investment capital for basic construction set out by provincial People’s Committee in a plan for 2011. It is known that the 18th session of the 7th provincial People’s Council also basically agreed with the plan.

238 works put into use in 2010

According to a report released by provincial People’s Committee, the province’s total value of basic construction volume implemented in 2010 is estimated to reach 103.4% of the projection. The capital disbursement for the task also reached 100% of the projection. As a result, there were 238 works put into operation in 2010.

In 2011, the province will focus on allocating investment capital to key infrastructure works

To Nguyen Thi Ha, head of the Committee for Economics and State budget under provincial People’s Committee, the above result was the local effort needing to be acknowledged in field of basic construction investment. Noticeably, the province mainly provided investment capital for key works of DT744 street, My Phuoc-Tan Van highway, An Linh-An Long bridge and social housing projects.

However, there were many shortcomings for change, including compensation-site clearance, monitoring over the quality of works, use and manage of works… For the rest of this year, according to Mrs.Ha, provincial People’s Committee needs to remove obstacles relating to the capital disbursement for the highest level this year.

Focusing on capital allocation to key works

As planned, the province will spend VND3.3trillion on basic construction for 2011. The 18th session of the 7th provincial People’s Council also basically agreed with the plan. Accordingly, the capital allocation of basic construction for 2011 will focus on key works with the positive impacts on the local socio-economic development, including the street to the Integrated Political and Administrative center, Tan Van-My Phuoc highway, DT746 street, Nguyen Chi Thanh street, DT744 street, DT748 street…

With VND3.3trillion, the province’s total investment capital for basic construction for 2011 increases by 14% compared to that of 2010 or 44% of total State budget expenditure. Of the total figure, more than VND1.39trillion will be managed by the province and more than VND1.9trillion under management of localities.

But, according to the Committee for Economics and State budget under provincial People’s Committee, the province needs to deliberate about 2011’s capital allocation of basic construction to the projects of upgrading the headquarters of State agencies, the programs of eradicating general galvanometers…
