Welcoming development trends

The Prime Minister has recently signed Decision No. 1325/QD-TTg on the implementation plan for the Southeastern region’s development master plan for 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. One of the primary tasks of this decision is to make the Southeastern region take the lead in high-tech industries and high-quality services.

Accordingly, the Southeastern region will focus on developing specific industries such as mechanical engineering, petrochemicals, downstream petrochemical products and oil and chemical processing. The region will give priority to developing key industries and new, high-tech sectors such as electronics and telecommunications, robotics manufacturing, automated and remote-controlled equipment, software production, digital products, environmental industries and auxiliary industries.

The province has recently announced its master plan for 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. The goal is to make Binh Duong become a centrally-run city by 2030 and a leading, dynamic development center in Southeast Asia, taking the lead in science-technology, innovation and modern industrial services. Semiconductor manufacturing is a major focus for the province in this new phase. Binh Duong is currently taking steps to establish a 220-hectare centralized information technology park and a high-tech zone, preparing infrastructure facilities to attract high-tech and semiconductor industry investors. Additionally, Binh Duong is following the government's directive to train and retrain 50,000 engineers in high-tech industries, urging universities to set up projects on workforce training. Binh Duong is also developing policies to attract high-quality human resources to support the local growth in this new phase.

According to provincial leaders, Binh Duong needs a comprehensive and synchronous set of solutions to welcome development trends. Key solutions include addressing institutional challenges, creating a favorable investment for enterprises and residents, enhancing scientific and technological research, developing a high-quality workforce in association to knowledge-based economy, promoting green growth…
