In the first nine months of 2018, the province’s animal husbandry situation continued reaching stable growth with 5,790 buffaloes, 24,815 cows, 601,928 pigs, 9.44 million of fowls, up 4.1%, 5.47%, 11.78%; and 7.84% compared to the same period of last year, respectively. The whole province also supplied the market with around 22,116 buffaloes, cows; more than 1.47 million of pigs; more than 32.5 million of fowls…
The Veterinary and Animal Health Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also recognized a bird flu-free area in 4 districts of North Tan Uyen, Bau Bang, Phu Giao and Dau Tieng under the Decision No.457/QD-TY-DT of the Veterinary and Animal Health Department dated June 27, 2018; granted the certification of the foot-and-mouth disease and hog cholera virus-free area for Phu Giao district under the Decision No.119/QD-TY-DT dated February 26, 2018, the certification of the foot-and-mouth disease-free area for Bau Bang district under the Decision No.120/QD-TY-DT dated February 26, 2018.
The province’s hi-tech animal husbandry field also continued developing stably, with 119 chicken farms having more than 6.2million of chickens; 140 pig farms with nearly 393,000 pigs; 9 duck farms with 139,000 ducks and 1 milk cow farm with 800 milk cows…Currently, the whole province is home to 418 households getting involved in urban agricultural models with 33,820 various animals (mainly being ornament fish, snakes, bears, tortoises…).
Since early this year, the local functional agencies have continued well realizing vaccination in poultry and cattle; tightened control over the slaughter, transportation of animals and their products…
