Nam Phuong Textile Joint Venture Company Limited yesterday held a groundbreaking ceremony of fabric factory at Viet Huong 2 Industrial Park in Ben Cat town on Oct. 6. Attending the ceremony were Mai The Trung, secretary of the provincial party committee, Le Thanh Cung, chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and leaders of departments, agencies and enterprises.
Nam Phuong Textile is the joint venture between Hongkong’s Haputex Development Co.Ltd. and Viet Huong Investment & Development Joint Stock Co. The US$120mil project is divided into three phases: first phase with the annual capacity of 36mln meters of fabric a year; second phase, 72mln meters of fabric a year; third phase, 96mln meters of fabric a year. It is expected that the plant will complete and put into operation by the end of 2015.
Addressing the ceremony, the provincial People’s Committee chairman Le Thanh Cung highly appreciated the project and said that this is a large scale and modern project, timely meeting demand on materials on the spot and contributing importantly to improve quality and efficiency of Binh Duong apparel industry in the coming time.
