Early June 6, provincial People’s Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for construction of Di An urban waste treatment and water supply plant, in attendance of Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee, representative of the World Bank (WB) together with leaders of relevant sectors and departments in the province.

The waste treatment and water supply plant project has a total investment of US$115million, including US$92million from the WB and around US$23million from provincial People’s Committee. Construction No.5 Company is responsible for building the plant of 6.8 hectares with the daily capacity of 20,000 cubic meters for the first phase. The plant is implemented in 5 wards of Di An town. Once being completed, it will collect rainwater in Binh An ward and daily waste in 4 wards of Di An, Tan Dong Hiep, Dong Hoa, An Binh, bringing benefits to 40,000 people.
