Early October 1, Sweden-based food packaging and processing corporation Tetra Pak held a groundbreaking ceremony for construction of its packaging factory worth US$110million at Tan Uyen town-based VSIP II-A. Attending the event were Nguyen Van Hieu, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment; Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.

Covering 100,000 square meters, the factory has a total capacity of producing 20 billion units of packaging per year in order to serve domestic and export demand and is scheduled for completion in early 2019. This is the largest scale factory among 34 projects undertaken by Swedish investors in the province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr.Liem emphasized that the factory is in line with the province’s investment attraction orientation in the current period. Provincial leaders have always spoken highly of Tetra Park’s investment project and will create favorable conditions for it to work effectively.
