On June 8, Bel Vietnam Co.Ltd., a subsidiary of France-based cheese supplier Bel Group, held a groundbreaking ceremony for construction of its new cheese factory with “Laughing Cow” brand at TDM city-based Song Than 3 industrial park (IP).

The US$17mln factory is scheduled for completion by the end of 2016 and it will replace the company’s existing factory at Ben Cat town-based My Phuoc 3 IP . The new factory has a fivefold and ninefold increase in area and capacity than the old one.
Along with “Laughing Cow” cheese, Bel Group has decided to develop the factory into a center researching and developing new products from cow milk to be able to raise its value of products in line with taste of customers in Vietnam and ASEAN region.
Addressing the ceremony, Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee said that Binh Duong carried out policies on investment attraction into IPs with well-built infrastructure over the past time. Taking full advantage of this, Bel Vietnam Co.Ltd. opportunely built its new cheese factory at Song Than 3 IP. The factory would contribute to promoting an industry with high added value which is entirely in line with the province’s investment and development policy.
