On the occasion of World Water Day, at Becamex Hotel in Binh Duong New City, Vietnam Water Supply Association (VWSA) in collaboration with Binh Duong Water Supply Environment Joint Stock Company (Biwase) co-organized the event of "Water Sector Policy Seminar" attended by Mr. Mai Hung Dung, Standing Member of the provincial Party Committee, Standing Deputy Chairman of the provincial People's Committee and representatives of leaders of a number of related departments, agencies, companies and water supply units in 63 provinces and cities in the whole nation.

At the Workshop, the delegates exchanged and discussed the problems with mechanisms and policies, the drawbacks in attracting investment capital, the equitization process, the draft content of the Law on Water Supply and Sewerage which is a law project that is of great interest to the water sector of very important significance and expected to create the necessary legal corridor to remove obstacles in the process of operation as well as the State management of water supply and drainage, mechanisms and policies to support investment and support water prices for water supply in poor rural areas, deep-lying areas, remote areas, border areas, islands, and areas with difficulty in water sources. The specific regulations on protection of water resources ensure the security and safety of clean water production and business activities. The workshop also heard some important contents in the process of digital transformation in the water sector.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Long, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for Enterprise Innovation under Government Office pointed out many advantages and disadvantages in the process of equitization of state-owned enterprises including the water supply and drainage sector. He said that as the Law on Water Supply and Sewerage is passed, it will contribute to solving difficulties in business operations.
