Due to industriousness, studiousness, taking advantage of local resources, many Youth Union’s members in Phu Giao district have developed their home-based businesses and become young billionaires. These are good examples of setting up in business of the youth.
Became a billionaire by raising crickets
Mr. Cao Van Doan, who is 25 years old and living at hamlet 9, An Linh commune, is not only a Youth Union’s enthusiastic, energetic, creative cadre but also an example of overcoming difficulties to get rich on homeland.
Coming from a farming family in Thai Binh, Doan and his parents came to An Linh commune in 2003. The dream to have an office job was uncompleted, after he left school in the 10th grade because of many reasons. Then he had to do many jobs to support his family. To earn stable incomes, Doan decided to raise scorpions to provide for restaurants. But this business did not bring a high profit.
In early 2010, with borrowed money, he bought 8000 black crickets. Despite great efforts and hopes, the first cricket brood did not bring the desired profit due to his lack of experiences. But he continued to learn from books, magazines, and even many other farms in HCM City, Dong Nai, Binh Thuan, etc. After a short period of time, his business was developed. Currently, his cricket farm has more than 400,000 barrels of cricket and is one top provider of crickets. After 4 years of raising crickets, he said: “Whatever you do, you have to be patient and keep learning. No difficulties, no failures, no better present day”.
He is also Deputy Secretary of hamlet 9’s Youth Union, where has many migrant young persons. He is always willing t share his experiences, knowledge, and create jobs for many persons with stable salaries. Due to his attempt to overcome difficulties, his enthusiasm in every local activity, he was one of four young persons receiving Luong Dinh Cua award from the Central Youth Union in 2013.
Young boss and social responsibilities
Mr. Nguyen Tan Hung, who is 26 years old and living at Kinh Nhuong hamlet, Vinh Hoa commune, is the Secretary of Migrant Young Workers’ Youth Union under Dong Nai brick factory. He owns an over 1,000-m2 factory manufacturing tuynel bricks, and creates stable jobs for 30 young workers.
Nguyen Tan Hung (right) introduced his tuynel brick production line.
With a bachelor's degree in business administration, his dream is how to expand his family's business. In early 2013, with his family’s acceptance, he opened a tuynel brick manufacturing factory. Then he had to find distribution channels for his bricks in many provinces and cities.
According to Hung, tuynel bricks manufacture is an advanced production model applying modern technologies reducing manual labours and especially avoiding environmental pollution. In his factory, in addition to using clay to manufacture bricks, he utilizes poor soil instead of alluvial soil, contributing to environmental protection.
Being aware of social responsibilities, Hung has participated zealously in community-based activities, such as: visiting, giving gifts to contributors, war invalids and martyrs’ families; supporting the program "Children's Festival" launched by local Youth Union. In particular, although his factory is a young business, Youth Union for Migrant young workers under his business was established and usually organizes meaningful activities for young persons. Hung said: “I’m young, maybe I do not understand completely about life, but I always try my best to make people around me happy so that I can feel happy too”.
Vinh Hoa commune’s Youth Union’s Secretary Nguyen Tan Hung said about Nguyen Tan Hung’s business, in the current socioeconomic development context, economic development should be associated with environmental protection and utilizing available resources. Nguyen Tan Hung’s business, Dong Nai tuynel brick manufacturing factory, is a typical business. Hung is also an excellent Union cadre and a good example for all young persons.
