Youth gets rich from raising tortoises

After visiting the models of economic development in southern Tay Ninh province, Nguyen An Khanh, 23, in Dau Tieng district’s Dau Tieng township has got involved in raising tortoises. And upon his passion and efforts to overcome difficulties, Khang has so far secured a stable living with the average income of VND15mln per month.

  

Khang regularly tends his tortoise-breeding ponds

Since 2008, Khang has used his family’s 2-ha land to develop the model of breeding tortoises. Khang said that he made efforts in studying and researching how to treat and prevent diseases on tortoises, helping him to successfully develop this animal husbandry model.

 

Khang has also got involved in breeding a kind of earthworm with the scientific name of Perionyx Excavatus. After one-year breeding, he has developed 300 kg of earthworm, which were mainly used as food for fish and tortoises in his farmstead. Since 2009, he has continued successfully developing the model of raising square-head anabases.

 

Khang now continues expanding the model of breeding tortoises and supplies breeding tortoises for the market, helping him and his family secure the average income of VND15mln per month.

 

Apartedly, he has actively taken part in the local youth movements and is now member of the Executive Committee of Dau Tieng township’s Youth Federation. He has also contributed to generating jobs with stable income for more than 10 Youth Union members

 

With his own efforts, Nguyen An Khang is worthy of being a youth full of stuff on the way of setting himself in business…
