The provincial People’s Committee chairman Le Thanh Cung yesterday hosted a meeting to assess the 2011 basic construction investment and key tasks for 2012. Japan provides assistance to southern provinces
According to the Japanese Consulate General to HCM City, Harumitsu Hida, the assistance will help provide medical and rehabilitation equipment for Tan Chau General Hospital in Tan Chau town, An Giang province, aiming to improve infrastructure of the hospital’s rehabilitation ward.
Emulation program towards poor women and children
In response to the 2012 emulation program towards poor women and children launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Women’s Union, provincial Women’s Unions at all levels has so far mobilized units to build 56 compassion houses worth VND30mln each for poor women and award 49 scholarships worth VND1mln to poor children with a total cost of nearly VND1.8bln. The 2012 emulation program towards poor women and children have received strong response from provincial Women’s Unions at all levels.
