On June 11, Provincial Department of Education and Training held a conference at People’s Committee of Phu Hoa Ward in Thu Dau Mot City to summarize the "Developing Preschool Education for the Period 2018-2025" project in Binh Duong Province. This project is governed by Decision No. 1677/QD-TTg issued by the Prime Minister on December 3, 2018.
According to reports from Department of Education and Training, the network of preschools in Binh Duong has been growing each year, creating favorable conditions for children to access education. By the 2024-2025 school year, the province is projected to have 104 public schools, 339 non-public schools, 745 independent nursery groups with more than seven children, and 113 independent nursery groups with a maximum of seven children.
By the end of the 2024-2025 school year, Binh Duong aims to have 5,071 groups and classes operating on a two-session-per-day schedule, achieving a 100% rate. The total number of teachers is expected to reach 7,857, with 70% of them holding a college degree in preschool education or higher. In public schools, the percentage is 94.06%, while in non-public schools it is 59.61%.
Currently, all classrooms in the province are solidly built, exceeding the target set by Decision 1677, which aimed for 80% solid classrooms. Furthermore, 105 out of 443 kindergartens have met national standards for educational quality assessment, resulting in a recognition rate of 23.70% (98.08% for public schools and 0.92% for non-public schools). A total of 91 communes, wards, and towns are maintaining the standard for universal preschool education for five-year-olds.
Additionally, following the guidelines from the Provincial People's Committee, localities have prioritized the implementation of policies to encourage investment in non-public preschools and classes. They are also properly and fully executing policies for teachers and preschool children as regulated.
During the conference, delegates discussed the advantages and challenges in the project's implementation and proposed solutions for advancing preschool education in the future.
