In harmony with the flow of Vietnam’s revolutionary journalism, the press in Binh Duong province has experienced a remarkable development journey marked by unforgettable milestones. Especially after 50 years since the liberation of the South, Binh Duong’s press has grown strongly, becoming a pioneering force on the ideological and cultural front. It has continuously strived to fulfill its roles and responsibilities, making significant contributions to the transformation of Song Be – Binh Duong from an agricultural province into a modern, prosperous and civilized and affectionate city.
Accompanying local development
Looking back at history, revolutionary journalism in Binh Duong has always been closely associated with the province's development through two resistance wars and the “Đổi mới” (renewal) era. From short bulletins and handwritten wall newspapers in the D war zone, journalists back then were steadfast fighters who both reported and fought. They were "pen-wielding warriors" who accompanied the revolutionary cause in the heroic land of Song Be – Binh Duong.

Throughout their work, Binh Duong’s journalists have consistently adhered to proper orientations and made valuable contributions to the province’s overall development
After the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975), provincial press quickly overcame difficulties, consolidated itself and gradually developed. Particularly, after Song Be province was split into Binh Phuoc and Binh Duong in 1997, Binh Duong journalism entered a new phase of transformation. This transformation was evident in organizational development, operational scale and communication content. Notably, Binh Duong Newspaper—the official media agency of the Communist Party of Vietnam in Binh Duong province and the voice of the Party, government and people of the province—officially began daily publication in 2003. More than just a source of information, Binh Duong Newspaper serves as a trusted forum for officials, Party members and the general public. Through various sections covering politics, economics, culture, society, Party building, law and national defense – security, the newspaper has closely followed the province’s political agenda, reflected the pulse of daily life and played a crucial role in shaping public opinion. It also fulfills its role as a platform for social critique, effectively contributing to the fight against corruption and other negative phenomena; preventing the degradation of political ideology, ethics and lifestyle as well as manifestations of “self-evolution” and “self-transformation”, supporting the building of a strong Party and political system and acting as a "bridge" between the Party and the people, fostering social consensus.
Along with Binh Duong Newspaper, Binh Duong Radio and Television Station (BTV) has also played a pivotal role in disseminating the Party and State's policies to the public throughout the province's development and national defense journey. BTV has adhered to the leadership and direction of provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee, delivering timely and accurate coverage of the Party’s policies, State laws, maintaining political-ideological orientation, strengthening public trust and promoting social unity. BTV has also produced high-quality and engaging programs that are both educational and closely aligned with daily life, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of its communication efforts.
Unforgettable imprints
Throughout their operations, Binh Duong’s press agencies have remained aligned with the province’s development strategies, promptly covering key issues across sectors, including industry, urban development, services, administrative reform, investment attraction, environmental protection, social welfare and new rural development. Especially, during the COVID-19 outbreak in Binh Duong, local journalists bravely ventured to the frontlines to report the realities of the pandemic, deliver timely government directives and spread the spirit of “fighting the pandemic like fighting an enemy”. Emotive news reports and articles became a significant source of encouragement for officials, soldiers, medical staff and the people, helping them overcome the hardships caused by the pandemic.
In Party building, provincial media has demonstrated its role as a sharp tool in combating negativity, defending the Party's ideological foundation, and promoting humane and virtuous values in society. Many specialized sections such as “Studying and Following Uncle Ho”, “Good People, Good Deeds” and “People Ask – Government Answers” have contributed to building a bridge between the Party, government and the people.
A highlight of Binh Duong’s journalism is its timely, comprehensive and accurate coverage of major political missions in the province, including the implementation of resolutions from all-level Party congresses, especially provincial and national Party congresses. It has actively disseminated key resolutions from the Central Committee on Party building and rectification and the Politburo’s Directive No. 05-CT/TW on "Acceleberation of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle”.
Alongside disseminating and promoting the Party’s and State’s guidelines and policies, thereby fostering unity in awareness and action across society, the press also conveys the thoughts, sentiments and aspirations of people from all walks of life, including officials and Party members. This enables the Party and the State to make timely adjustments to better align with real-life circumstances.
In the context of digital transformation, Binh Duong’s press agencies are making strong efforts to adapt and undergo significant changes. Beyond technological upgrades, these agencies are also focusing on training and upskilling their reporters and editors to enhance their professional competencies, digital thinking and technological proficiency. Additionally, collaboration with central and other local press agencies has been strengthened to expand news coverage, share resources and exchange experience in journalism in the digital era.
In recent years, Binh Duong’s journalists have not only excelled in local communication tasks, but also gained national recognition. Binh Duong Newspaper and BTV have won numerous prestigious awards such as the National Press Awards, the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award and the Dien Hong Award.
In the digital era and under the global trend of journalism, Binh Duong’s press faces significant challenges, including increasingly fierce information competition, changing media consumption habits, the proliferation of fake news and toxic content on social media. This demands continued innovation in content, format and delivery. This requires the press in the province to continue making bold innovations in content, format, and methods of communication. At the same time, maintaining professional ethics and the conduct of revolutionary journalists is still a vital necessity. Binh Duong’s press must consistently uphold its role as a leader in delivering official information—accurate, timelymand relevant—truthfully reflecting real life and serving as a bridge between the Party, the State and the people.
Through its journey of development and transformation, Binh Duong’s press has affirmed its role as an official information channel and the voice of provincial Party Committee, government and people. With the noble mission of “serving the people”, Binh Duong press has continuously grown in both quality and staff, leaving many profound marks in the cause of socio-economic development, Party and political system building and protection of the Party’s ideological foundation in the locality…
