In recent days, Executive Board of Ward 8 in Phu My Ward, Thu Dau Mot City, has urgently visited every alley and knocked on every door to distribute ballots and gather opinions from residents regarding the proposed provincial-level merger plans and the reorganization of commune-level administrative units. Mr. Pham Quang Khai, Head of the Executive Board of Ward 8, stated that to implement the directives of Phu My Ward Party Committee, they acted swiftly to complete the collection of local opinions within a set timeframe. The Executive Board shared the opinion collection form through the ward's Zalo group, allowing households to review the information in advance. Additionally, they announced the specific times when ward officials would visit homes to deliver the opinion collection forms.
"With proactive efforts, regardless of the time of day or night, we completed the distribution of opinion forms and compiled the residents' comments by noon on April 18, sending them to Phu My Ward Party Committee," said Mr. Pham Quang Khai.
According to Mr. Pham Quang Khai, the synthesis of opinion polls shows that there is strong support for the proposed changes. Mr. Phan Van Mau, a resident of quarter 8 in Phu My Ward, commented, “The streamlining of organizational structure, the merging of provincial and commune-level administrative units, and the abolition of the district level represent a historic decision. These changes will help to streamline the administrative framework, enhance management efficiency, and create opportunities for development at both the local and national levels, ultimately paving the way for prosperity and strength.” He also expressed his agreement with the names for the new communes and wards mentioned in the plan, which honor the history of the local areas, such as Thu Dau Mot Ward, Phu Loi Ward, and Binh Duong Ward to preserve the local identity.
The organization of collecting opinions is being urgently developed by localities across the province, fostering democracy and harnessing the intelligence, enthusiasm, and aspirations of cadres, party members, and citizens from all sectors of society.
