In recognition of Workers' Month and Action Month for occupational safety and hygiene in 2025, a variety of meaningful activities have been taking place in the province. These initiatives not only enhance the spiritual well-being of workers but also provide material support to those facing difficult circumstances. This assistance helps motivate them to overcome their challenges, work with peace of mind, and contribute to the overall development of the community.
Care about mental life
In the last days of April, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), in workshops and enterprises, many meaningful activities were organized and became an opportunity for workers to express their patriotism in the great joy of the nation.

Ms. Tran Thi Kim Thi, Chairwoman of Trade Union of Thanh Phong Packaging Paper Company Limited (Khanh Binh Ward, Tan Uyen City), said that The company's employees were very happy when the leaders organized meaningful activities to celebrate April 30 for hundreds of workers. The celebration began with a flag-raising ceremony, followed by singing the national anthem. This was followed by a light party attended by company leaders and all employees. In addition to organizing the festival, the grassroots Trade Union allocated funds to provide each worker with a shirt printed with the national flag, allowing them to take photos and commemorate this important event in the country's history.
According to Provincial Labor Confederation, the activities of Workers' Month and Action Month on occupational safety and hygiene this year aim to propagate, encourage, create new motivation for union officials, union members and workers to show high determination, efforts as well as raise awareness and responsibility of the whole society in caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests; and improve the living and working conditions of workers. |
According to reports, in response to April 30, many companies displayed the national flag in their workshops and workplaces. They also organized various activities to express national pride and share in the country’s joy. Recently, there has been an increased effort at all levels and sectors in the province to care for the spiritual well-being of workers, contributing to a vibrant atmosphere in workshops and factories. Additionally, many recreational spaces for workers have been established for after-hours enjoyment, creating a communal living environment.
Mr. Cao Thanh Quang, Vice Chairman of Binh Hoa Ward People's Committee (Thuan An City), said that in order to build a playground for workers, especially Khmer workers, the locality has chosen a cultural boarding house and organized many suitable cultural activities and established youth worker associations. Currently, some localities have also promoted this program well. Specifically, Khanh Binh ward (Tan Uyen city) has so far established more than 20 union branches of workers living far from home, including a branch for Khmer youth. Meanwhile, in Di An Ward (Di An City), a Youth Workers Association has been established to unite Cham youth living in the area, with the aim of supporting one another when necessary.
During holidays and Tet festivals, youth branches organize meaningful activities that receive positive feedback from their members. A notable example is Mr. Trieu Vi La, a young Khmer man from Soc Trang, who actively serves as a "bridge" connecting Binh Hoa ward with Khmer youth. His efforts were recognized when he was honored with admission to the Party.
Take care of material life
In addition to nurturing the spiritual well-being of workers, the responsibility of addressing their material needs is also a key focus for various departments and localities. A notable example of effective work in this area is Thu Dau Mot City, which has 24,180 union members out of a total of 25,163 employees.
Ms. Huynh Phi Nga, President of the Thu Dau Mot City Labor Federation, stated that this year, initiatives for Workers' Month and the Action Month on occupational safety and hygiene began early. Activities included organizing football and volleyball tournaments, as well as distributing gifts to workers and laborers facing difficult circumstances and serious illnesses. “This practical support will help employees find the motivation to overcome adversity, feel secure in their treatment, and continue working effectively,” said Ms. Huynh Phi Nga.

In addition to the activities that have taken place, during the Workers' Month and the Month of Action on occupational safety and hygiene this year, Thu Dau Mot City Labor Federation and other localities also organized and co-hosted many meaningful programs such as: Focus on organizing communication campaigns associated with major national holidays; organize the program "Dialogue in May" and the forum "Party with workers - Workers with the Party" to listen to the thoughts and aspirations of workers and laborers; organize conferences to implement the Law on Labor Safety and Hygiene, the Law on Social Insurance for union officials...
Local Labor Federations are currently enhancing their guidance for grassroots trade unions to adapt their activities based on specific conditions. They are coordinating with professional departments and employers to identify and organize at least one initiative or project at each facility. This effort is aimed at improving both the material and spiritual well-being of workers.
