Activities welcome Party and Lunar New Year 2011
To cater for local people in Lunar New Year 2011, mark the 81st anniversary of Vietnamese Communist Party (Feb. 3, 1930-2011) and to create emulation ambience for 2011, the provincial People’s Committee issued plans on holding activities for welcoming Party and Lunar New Year 2011.
Phu Long Bridge completes 95% of its progress
According to Bui Manh Hung, team head of Machine Executing Company No.1 – the unit building main branch and bridge path in Lai Thieu area, said the project’s progress has so far reached about 95%. Earlier, in the end of Dec. 2010, the HCMC Transport Department and the Urban Traffic Management Unit No.3 opened two side branches of the Phu Long Bridge, connecting the HCMC’s district 12 and Binh Duong province’s Lai Thieu township.
Province strives to reach new rural criteria in 22 communes
The provincial steering board of new rural building program yesterday had a meeting with the local department of Agriculture and Rural Development to hear about draft of new rural building program in the 2010-2020 period. Based on the draft, the province strives to reach new rural criteria at 22 communes in the 2011-2015 period and at 4 out of 7 districts (Phu Giao, Dau Tieng, Ben Cat and Tan Uyen) in the 2016-2020 period.
5,000 people to join blood donation program
Over 5,000 people are expected to participate in a blood donation program, “Chao Xuan Hong 2011” (Greeting Red Spring 2011) in Hanoi to collect some 2,000 units of blood and deal with a shortage of blood during the lunar New Year.
Sacombank donates Tet gifts to Chanh Phu Hoa social support center
Representative of Sacombank’s trade union and staff visited and donated Tet gifts worth more than VND40mln, including 2 tons of rice, 200kg of sugar, 10 boxes of milk, 10kg of seasoning powder and VND10mln in cash, to the Chanh Phu Hoa Social Support Center in Ben Cat district (photo). The total cost of the donation was funded by Sacombank’s welfare fund and staff.
VND70mln spent on supporting the blind in Phu Giao
Phu Giao district’s Society for the Blind now has 58 members. Last year, the district’s Society for the Blind and Bank for Social Policy considered and disbursed VND70mln in loan for 8 poor households to develop homebased business.

The provincial Cooperative Alliance just held a conference to report collective economy in 2010 and orientations for 2011. As of the end of 2010, the entire province had 3,038 cooperative teams, clubs with 53,508 members, 97 cooperatives of 43,764 members, and an increase of nearly 92% from the past year.

Education of the Law on FPF among small traders at TDM market
Late Jan.16, provincial Traffic Police Division’s Youth Union, in collaboration with TDM market’s Management Board, delivered 1,000 leaflets regarding the Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting (FPF) to households and small traders at the market, raising their awareness of fire prevention and fighting, especially during the 2011 Tet festival.
